The new structure and innovative services of the ski area in the centre of Livigno

Skiing is finally on in Livigno! With thestart of the 2024-25 season on Saturday 30 November also the lifts of the Ski Area Valandrea opened their doors welcoming the first skiers. Thanks to the extraordinary works during the summer, this year our area presents a completely renewed look, with a brand new and innovative structure designed to offer all thebest services dedicated to those who ski in Livigno. Here they are in detail.

Lifts and ski slopes in the centre of Livigno

Let's start with what was already there: the lifts and slopes that allow you to ski in the centre of Livigno in an area that is easily accessible by all means, just before the start of Livigno's ZTL. The Valandrea ski area offers sport and fun opportunities for all skiers, from beginners to experts, thanks to three lifts:

• a treadmill for children and beginners, for their first descents on the snow;
• a ski lift for those who already ski with ease and confidence, ideal for trying out longer and steeper descents;
• a chairlift, running parallel to the ski lift, suitable for children, with automatic locking and raising of the safety bar, to reach higher altitudes and tackle even longer and more exciting descents.

There are two slopes in the ski area, one to the right and one to the left of the lifts, both accessible from the chairlift and the ski lift, and both are easy blue runs, suitable for all skiers and without any particular technical difficulties, but fun and challenging.

Parking for skiers

Now to the novelties. First, the new ski area car park, which solves the problem of where to leave your car in Livigno near the slopes: right in front of the Valandrea there is in fact a dedicated area with uncovered parking spaces on the surface and an underground covered car park with 65 spaces. The ski area can also be easily reached with Livigno's free buses (the Ostaria bus stop is right in front of the entrance to the lifts), but those who ski in the town centre can drive there and park here, avoiding having to trek with boots on their feet and skis on their shoulders.

Also available in our car park are 4 brand new charging stations for electric cars, with central payment at the car park cash desk.

Ski depot with heated lockers

The highlight of the new facility is definitely thelocker area, a large area on the ground floor that serves as a ski and equipment depot. As many as 80 state-of-the-art lockers are installed here, which you can rent for one or more days (even non-consecutive days) to leave your skis, helmet, boots, snowshoes, snowboard and all your winter skiing equipment there at the end of the day on the snow, to take them back the next day ready for use.

Similarly, you can leave your personal belongings safely stored while you ski, so that you can enjoy your day without worries. Access to the lockers is individual, H24 and is done using the same card you use to ski in Livigno: the reservation is in fact loaded onto the ski pass, so as to facilitate operations.

Ski pass and ski school ticket office

The Valandrea ski area allowsimmediate access to the slopes, condensing within itself all the services a skier in Livigno needs. One of the most important of these is thepurchase of the ski pass: the day pass for skiing in Livigno, valid for all the lifts in the ski area, as well as the other season ticket options, can be purchased directly at the skipass desk on the ground floor of the ski area, without wasting any time.

Near the ticket office there is also an info point where you can get information about ski courses and book ski lessons for adults and children at the Valandrea ski area, in cooperation with one of Livigno's best ski schools and its ski instructors.
