Try winter go-karts in Livigno on the Valandrea ski slopes
Skiing is themost popular winter activity in Livigno, and it couldn't be otherwise, but it's certainly not the only one. Besides all the other fun and snow sports available in Little Tibet - from ski mountaineering to snowshoeing, from ice-skating to fat-biking - there is analternative to skiing that can be practised in the late afternoon during the week, here at Valandrea: snowkarting. Let's find out more about what it is and why it is an experience not to be missed.
Snowkarting in Livigno: what it is, when and where to practice
When the lifts close in Livigno and the skiers unhook their skis to start theapres-ski ritual in the clubs on the slopes and in the village, at the Ski Area Valandrea the fun continues. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, starting at 17.00, the ski slopes of our ski area in the centre turn into a circuit reserved for snowkarts: real 3-wheel karts to be driven on the snow to make descents down slopes usually reserved for skiers.
How does the Valandrea snowkart work? It is very simple: you climb aboard your kart, suitably equipped for safety with the helmet supplied with the vehicle, and take the Valandrea skiflit to the top. Here you launch yourself onto the track, illuminated for the occasion, driving the vehicle like a go-kart, complete with steering wheel, and performing evolutions, drifts, pirouettes and spins, engaging in an adrenalin-fuelled descent to the bottom of the track. Then it's off again, and the fun begins again.
Winter go-kart racing: useful information
If you want to experience all the fun of a downhill run on Livigno's snow-karts, either alone or in the company of a group of friends to challenge you on the track, we are waiting for you at the Valandrea Ski Area, in the centre of Livigno, on these days and times throughout the winter season:
- Tuesdays, from 5 to 7 p.m;
- Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m;
- Thursday, from 17.00 to 19.00.
The snowkart ticket can be purchased directly at the ski area ticket office and includes hire of the go-kart for the duration of the experience andaccess to the ski lift for the ascent. A helmet, which is compulsory for all participants, is also provided with the vehicle. There are no age limits for driving the go-karts, but the minimum height must be 1.20 metres and adequate physical fitness is required.
It is possible to purchase individual rides or a cumulative ticket. Snowkart prices for the 2024-25 season are:
- 1 ride: € 5.00
- 3 rides: € 13.00
- 5 rides: € 20.00
